COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Harry Hruska Runs 10.700/138.37, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 58 percent, barometer 29.23 inches, adjusted altitude 3,032 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

Hruska with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 8.548/109.05, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 9.168/98.68, Now #2

Matusek shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Winters is real loose early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.993/241.15, Now #1
Right Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 7.190/156.25, Now #2

Whiteley clicks it off early, but still goes to the number one spot.

Flamholc shakes and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 7.845/118.20, Now #4
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 7.569/129.72, Now #3

Castellana with tire shake and clicks it off.

King also with tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 8.332/131.87, Now #6
Right Lane: Rick Hord Runs 7.666/128.29, Now #4

Satterfield with tire shake and clicks it off.

Hord was sideways before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 5.899/255.05, Now #1
Right Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 6.081/248.02, Now #3

Laughlin gets it to hook up to go to the number one spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.026 sec., 330ft-2.710, 660ft-3.957/198.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.014.

Biehle slows on the top end...

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 5.918/240.72, Now #2
Right Lane: Eric Latino Runs 9.048/108.09, Now #11

Snider is straight down the groove to the number two spot. Brandon Snider's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.613, 660ft-3.897/192.93 mph, 1,000ft-4.991.

Latino with tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.888/254.23, Now #1
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 8.505/107.50, Now #11

Frigo kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.699, 660ft-3.949/199.70 mph, 1,000ft-5.002.

alBalooshi shakes and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 6.011/248.57, Now #6

Whiteley shakes and clicks it off.

Green gets into the top half of the ladder.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.898/255.10, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeremy Ray Runs 9.433/93.88, Now #20

Smith launched hard and kept it hooked up to go the number two spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.712, 660ft-3.962/200.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.014.

Ray with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jose Gonzalez Runs 6.083/237.50, Now #11
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.837/248.71, Now #1

Gonzalez slows on the top end.

Janis with a great pass to go to the number one spot. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.591, 660ft-3.856/196.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.931.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 5.865/247.79, Now #3
Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.840/248.84, Now #2

This is a great side-by-side to wrap up round one of qualifying.

Tutterow is straight down the groove to go to the number two spot. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.608, 660ft-3.878/195.53 mph, 1,000ft-4.957.

Jackson kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.602, 660ft-3.861/197.42 mph, 1,000ft-4.935.
