ENNIS, Texas --
The 34th AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals will be at the Motorplex Oct. 17-20 with the quickest and fastest form of racing anywhere. You never know what the jaw-dropping moment will be, but you just know there will be at least one "can't miss" moment in the NHRA playoff weekend. Tickets are now on sale for this historic event. Fans rush each year to pick out the seats where they can witness the fire-breathing dragons of drag racing as they pump out 10,000 horsepower at more than 320 mph. It is the fourth of six Countdown championship playoff events. Title hopes are on the line, champions are made and the action is as hot as Top Fuelers, Funny Car and hundreds of other racers thunder down the drag strip. Winning at the Motorplex started with legends as Don "Big Daddy" Garlits (TF), Kenny Bernstein (FC), Bob Glidden (PS) ushered in the new era of Motorplex racing in 1986. That tradition continues as the new generation of champions will defend their 2018 titles when the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals come back for the annual visit. Steve Torrence (TF), Robert Hight (FC), Tanner Gray (PS), LE Tonglet (PSM) earned 2018 victories. Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between January and November each year and also features the Champion's Club - an 11,000 square-foot facility - that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
