10:57 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 53 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 29.04 inches, adjusted altitude 1,053 feet, track temperature 72 degrees.

Boyer gets a big head start, but has the bike pull steadily to the center line and he finally closes over right at mid-track to get his run DQ'ed.

House's engine sounds rough and he slows to still get the easy win.

Rickey House's incremental times: 60ft-1.209 sec., 330ft-2.998, 660ft-4.407/172.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.731.

Upset! Layne gets a huge starting line advantage and is never headed, as Turner can't match his prior best.

Beau Layne's incremental times: 60ft-1.173 sec., 330ft-2.911, 660ft-4.248/184.90 mph, 1,000ft-5.392.

Andy Beauchemin misses the tree and gives the easy win to Tharpe.

Tharpe's engine gets unhappy down track and he slows. He gives up lane choice to Layne in round two.
