POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 54th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Tom Huggins Runs 19.457/43.88, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 10 percent, barometer 28.86 inches, adjusted altitude 2,746 feet, track temperature 108 degrees.

Huggins with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Joey Grose Runs 6.738/196.36, Now #1
Right Lane: Steve Graham Runs 16.287/53.45, Now #2

Grose slowed on the top end, it appears his left front tire went down. He tagged the wall, past the finish line.

Graham with severe tire shake and he pushed the clutch in.

Left Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.697/207.27, Now #2
Right Lane: Fernando Cuadra Runs 6.636/210.18, Now #1

Smeland with a good clean pass. Val Smeland's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.803, 660ft-4.308/163.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.607.

Cuadra was straight down the groove...Fernando Cuadra's incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.802, 660ft-4.286/166.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.563.

Left Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.647/208.49, Now #3
Right Lane: Alan Prusiensky Runs 6.590/209.20, Now #1

Delco with a good pass to start the weekend.

Prusiensky with a real nice pass to go to the number one spot. Alan Prusiensky's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.238/165.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.517.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.570/210.70, Now #1
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.582/211.00, Now #2

This was a good side-by-side drag race.

Hartford launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.225/166.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.499.

Laughlin was right there with him to go to the number two spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.756, 660ft-4.235/167.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.511.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.565/211.53, Now #1
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.593/210.24, Now #5

McGaha launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.229/167.30 mph, 1,000ft-5.497.

Kramer with a good looking pass to go to the number five spot. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.244/166.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.520.

Left Lane: Bo Butner Runs 8.368/105.77, Now #11
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.557/212.09, Now #1

Butner with problems early and coasted on down the track.

Anderson with great pass to go to the number one spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.225/167.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.492.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.549/211.46, Now #1
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 14.416/60.73, Now #13

Line launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.217/167.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.484.

Nobile with severe tire shake and pushed in the clutch.

Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.559/211.69, Now #3

This was good side-by-side drag race.

Skillman with a good pass, straight down the groove to the number four spot. Drew Skillman's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.232/167.66 mph, 1,000ft-5.497.

Enders with a real nice pass to go to the number three spot. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.751, 660ft-4.223/167.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.493.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.542/211.43, Now #1
Right Lane: Tanner Gray Runs 6.567/211.43, Now #7

Coughlin launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.733, 660ft-4.203/167.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.473.

Gray with a good clean pass to get into the top half of the field. Tanner Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.230/167.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.500.
