Left Lane: Howie Stevens Runs 7.527/181.03/-0.523, Now #1 C/A Index: 8.05
Right Lane: Cody Lane Runs 8.579/155.40/-0.511, Now #2 B/SMA Index: 9.09

2:14 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 19 percent, barometer 27.88 inches, adjusted altitude 4,742 feet, track temperature 107 degrees.

Left Lane: Ed Sigmon Runs 13.171/89.89/4.001, Now #4 C/SR Index: 9.17
Right Lane: Todd Miller Runs 7.656/124.19/0.586, Now #3 AA/AM Index: 7.07

Sigmon had problems early and backed off the the throttle.

Left Lane: Allen Wilson Runs 9.191/146.64/-0.209, Now #3 G/AA Index: 9.40
Right Lane: Clint Sallee Runs 11.512/70.56/4.172, Now #6 B/D Index: 7.34

Sallee has problems and is off the throttle early.

Right Lane: Ed Federkeil Jr Runs 18.323/44.10/10.613, Now #7 B/AA Index: 7.71

Federkeil has traction problems and is off the throttle early.

Left Lane: Ralph Van Paepeghem Runs 7.382/177.67/-0.528, Now #2 A/EA Index: 7.91
Right Lane: Doug Lambeck Runs 8.496/157.48/-0.574, Now #1 D/SMA Index: 9.07

Lambeck makes a good pass to take the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Travis Gusso Runs 8.499/159.04/-0.631, Now #1 D/SM Index: 9.13
Right Lane: Bruce Schmiedl Runs 7.441/178.73/-0.539, Now #3 A/EA Index: 7.98

Gusso makes a good pass in the heat to take the top spot for now. Schmiedl makes a decent pass to get in the third spot for now.

Left Lane: John Edwards Runs 7.573/180.36/-0.467, Now #7 C/AA Index: 8.04
Right Lane: Brian Hyerstay Runs 9.259/108.03/-0.271, Now #8 G/D Index: 9.53

Edwards makes a little move to the left off the line but stays on the throttle and makes a decent pass.

Left Lane: Doug Engels Runs 7.455/163.51/-0.655, Now #1 D/ED Index: 8.11
Right Lane: Art Hodges Runs 7.396/183.44/-0.554, Now #4 C/A Index: 7.95

Engels makes a good pass to take the pole for now. Hodges makes a clean run to get in the fourth spot for now.

Warter is off the throttle early, not sure why.

Left Lane: Jeff Lane Runs 8.278/143.95/-0.332, Now #15 A/SMA Index: 8.61
Right Lane: Jim Greenheck Runs 7.693/174.73/-0.637, Now #2 D/AA Index: 8.33

Lane was moving around a little early in the run. Greenheck makes a clean pass and gets in the second spot for now.
