CONCORD, N.C. - Steve Torrence remained perfect in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship and won his fourth straight race in Top Fuel on Sunday with his victory at the 11th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by WIX Filters at zMAX Dragway.

Ron Capps (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the fourth of six playoff events during the 2018 Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship.

Steve Torrence, 3.703 seconds, 329.67 mph defeated Brittany Force, 3.708 seconds, 329.26 mph.

Points leader Torrence secured his ninth victory this season and fourth consecutive win during the Countdown to the Championship. He swept both Wally's at zMAX Dragway this season.

Ron Capps, Dodge Charger, 3.890 seconds, 331.20 mph defeated J.R. Todd, Toyota Camry, 4.311 seconds, 214.96 mph.

Capps locked-in his third Funny Car win of the season and 60th of his career. He leaves zMAX Dragway third in points in the standings.

Jason Line, Chevy Camaro, 6.531 seconds, 211.89 mph defeated Tanner Gray, Camaro, 6.534 seconds, 211.43 mph.

Line clinched his first Wally of the season and 48th of his career Sunday afternoon after defeating points leader Tanner Gray in the finals.

Matt Smith, EBR, 6.830 seconds, 196.64 mph defeated Chip Ellis, Harley-Davidson, Foul - Red Light.

Smith took over the category points lead securing his second victory during the Countdown to the Championship and third of the season.
