CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 11th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:

Left Lane: Art Hodges Runs 17.150/49.26/9.250, Now #2 C/A Index: 7.90
Right Lane: Matt Welker Runs 15.133/55.89/6.683, Now #1 A/SM Index: 8.45
