ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 33rd annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Mark Billington Runs 6.087/241.28, Now #9; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 91 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 29.31 inches, adjusted altitude 3,776 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.

Billington started to shake the tires around 250 feet and pedaled it, but couldn't get it to hook up and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 9.659/91.03, Now #12; Best prior run: 8.954/99.95, Was #11
Right Lane: Aryan Rochon Runs 5.865/220.76, Now #8; No Prior Run

Bellemeur with tire shake early and clicked it off.

Rochon was on a good pass until around 800 feet when it banged the blower..

Left Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.574/265.38, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.805/258.96, Was #7
Right Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.564/268.06, Now #3; Best prior run: 9.871/98.52, Was #13

This was a pretty good side-by-side drag race.

Gordon was straight down the groove to go to the number four spot. Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.515, 660ft-3.714/207.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.726.

Whiteley launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.532, 660ft-3.720/209.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.722.

Right Lane: Brian Hough Runs 8.574/98.59, Now #12; Best prior run: 8.509/96.16, Was #12

Brown with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Hough got out to about 200 and shook the tires and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.661/258.17, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.964/244.74, Was #10

Van Hauen with tire shake and clicks it off.

Januik was straight down the groove to the number seven spot.

Westerfield launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.493, 660ft-3.686/208.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.697.

Payne with another good pass, but will not improve. Jay Payne's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.563, 660ft-3.771/206.61 mph, 1,000ft-4.794.

Right Lane: Chris Marshall Runs 5.517/267.43, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.594/225.03, Was #5

Lombardo with another great pass, he now has the two quickest passes of the day. John Lombardo Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.486, 660ft-3.663/210.83 mph, 1,000ft-4.660.

Marshal with a great pass to go to the number two spot. Chris Marshall's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.495, 660ft-3.674/209.95 mph, 1,000ft-4.675.
