LAS VEGAS - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 17th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals:

3:04 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 27.72 inches, adjusted altitude 4,645 feet, track temperature 117 degrees.

Leanders gets out of the gate first and starts to pull away. Dixon hits the throttle and the car makes a hard move to the right. The car goes between the tree and the sixty foot timing block, taking out the a-board, then runs head on into the wall. The car spins around, heads back toward the starting line, then comes to a stop. Dixon climbs out of the car and is okay.

The report from the starting line, a fuel line sprung a leak and started pouring fuel out under one of the tires. When he hit the throttle, one tire lost traction causing the car to spin to the right and head into the wall.

Leanders takes the win, the second of his career in five final rounds.
