LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 17th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.291/183.02, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.190/185.69, Was #24
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.088/190.57, Now #18; Best prior run: 10.777/76.33, Was #26

1:31 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 18 percent, barometer 27.84 inches, adjusted altitude 4,671 feet, track temperature 111 degrees.

Arana makes his quickest pass of the weekend but still doesn't get in the show. Bonham makes a clean pass but slows from his earlier attempt.

Hall makes a good pass but doesn't improve and is still on the outside looking in. Rawlings bike was sluggish all the way through the run.

Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.032/189.34, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.039/189.02, Was #12

Smith makes his quickest pass of the weekend but stays in the 12th spot. Bottorff slows from his earlier attempts.

Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 7.066/187.18, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.017/189.12, Was #10

Gladstone makes a decent pass but doesn't improve and stays in the tenth spot. Reed slows from his earlier attempt and still isn't in the show.

Left Lane: Ron Tornow Runs 7.136/186.48, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.111/187.68, Was #20
Right Lane: Mark Paquette Runs 7.211/180.38, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.175/182.77, Was #23

Tornow moves a little to the right early in the run and doesn't improve. Paquette slows and isn't in the show.

Left Lane: Charles Sullivan Runs 7.126/185.87, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.090/186.92, Was #19
Right Lane: David Hope Runs 7.177/180.67, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.149/181.64, Was #22

Hope was on a decent pass but slowed near the end of the run. Sullivan slows and still isn't in the show.

Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.097/189.44, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.067/189.66, Was #16

Johnson gets about 100 feet out, the bike doesn't shift and the engine hits the rev limiter. Camarena makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.977/188.52, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.053/185.59, Was #14

Sampey makes an impressive pass for the conditions and moves all the way to the seventh spot. Surber slows and drops a spot as Sampey goes around her.

Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.112/186.54, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.043/189.71, Was #14

Smith and Sullivan make decent passes but neither improve.

Pollacheck makes another pass in the sixes but he doesn't improve. Stoffer slows and stays in the tenth spot.
