POMONA, Calif. -- J.R. Todd (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 24th and final event of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. The Auto Club NHRA Finals marks the conclusion of the six-race NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. The Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle championships are still up for grabs.

Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier J. R. Todd drove his Sealmaster Dragster to a 3.680 second pass at 327.82 mph.

Todd set the track elapsed time record to secure his first No. 1 qualifier of the season, ninth of his career. He will meet Troy Buff in the first round of eliminations on Sunday.

Funny Car No. 1 qualifier Jack Beckman drove his Infinite Hero Dodge Charger R/T to a 3.825 second pass at 332.10 mph.

Beckman earned his sixth No. 1 qualifier of the season, 21st of his career. He will face John Bojec to open up eliminations on Sunday.

Pro Stock No. 1 qualifier Jason Line drove his Summit Racng Equipment Chevy Camaro to a 6.545 second pass at 211.33 mph.

This is Line's eighth No. 1 qualifier of the season and 49th of his career. The Pro Stock points leader will line up against Alan Prusiensky in the opening round of eliminations.

Pro Stock Motorcycle No. 1 qualifier Jerry Savoie rode his White Alligator Racing Suzuki to a 6.825 second pass at 194.97 mph

Savoie earned his third No. 1 qualifier of the season, eighth of his career in the final round of qualifying. Heading into eliminations, Savoie has a five point lead for the world championship he will race Angie Smith in the first round on Sunday.
