POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 52nd annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Randy Jones Runs 10.970/90.59/1.650, Now #21; H/A Index: 9.32, No Prior Run
Right Lane: Josh Lee Runs 8.840/149.30/-0.730, Now #1; H/EA Index: 9.57, Prior Best: 8.818/147.86/-0.752, Was #1

11:43 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 28.94 inches, adjusted altitude 3,141 feet, track temperature 108 degrees.

Josh Lee is number one at -0.752 under his index. Field not filled, no bump spot.

This is Jones first pass and he struggles.

Clean pass for Lee in the hotter conditions today.

Mozeris finally gets a representive pass and moves up into the top half of the field.

Fletcher picks up just a tad to stay #5.

Mandella gets to the finish line under power this time and moves twelve spots up the ladder into the top four.

Greenheck is a little quicker and faster to stay #2.

DePalma's engine goes silent early.

Hyerstay pick up a little ET and a BUNCH of speed. He moves up a spot to #7.

Wilson makes a clean pass to move up two positions. That pushes a slowing, Carter back to #15.

Strong leave for McClay and he clicks it early.

Affronti gets a ET this time and is on the ladder for now.

Prothero has problems staging and times out. He gets pushed away.

Rampy dumps in the lights and will stay #3.

Edwards didn't show for Q2, after problems in Q1. He makes to the finish line under power this time and gets into the field.

Lane makes a much better run this time and moves up into the #18 spot.

Two wheels up launches!

Lambeck does his early dump to get a less than sixty under test done.

Lane goes for it and moves into the sixty under range and gets three spots on the ladder.

Brewer is done early.

Van Paepeghem finds some power and move three spots up the ladder.

Ellis saves his best to last and moves well into the seventy under range. That's the new #2 position.

Sigmon basically repeats his best ET and goes a tad faster.

Single to wrap up qualifying, but he breaks.
