ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Chris Karamesines Runs 4.213/232.31, Now #13; No Prior Run

Karamesines making his first pass of the weekend and around half track he started drifting out of the groove and then started hazing his tires before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Kebin Kinsley Runs 5.767/121.00, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.725/325.92, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.769/317.94, Was #9

Kinsley started smoking the tires by 330 feet and clicked it off. Schumacher launched hard and was straight down the groove to go to the number four spot. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.826 sec., 330ft-2.112, 660ft-2.989/289.26 mph.

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 6.365/93.34, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.767/320.81, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.807/320.20, Was #11

Haddock's car made a quick move toward the centerline and when he pedaled it and then as he reeled it back into his lane it banged and the chutes came out. Dixon with a real nice pass, straight down the groove to move up the ladder one spot. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.128, 660ft-3.020/284.27 mph.

Left Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.929/311.41, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 3.832/311.70, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.741/315.64, Was #7

Palmer was on a good pass until on the top end when it used up an engine with a lot a smoke. Palmer then tags the wall in the shut down area. He still goes to the number 13 spot. Crampton with another good pass, but will not improve. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.863 sec., 330ft-2.180, 660ft-3.065/282.24 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.737/327.43, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.770/325.14, Was #11
Right Lane: Troy Buff Runs 3.911/302.48, Now #13; No Prior Run

Torrence launched hard and kept it hooked up to get in the top half of the show. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.124, 660ft-3.001/289.76 mph. Buff with a real nice pass get in the show.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 4.477/176.65, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.746/321.04, Was #10
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.911/288.09, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.835/309.84, Was #12

Millican started using up an engine with a huge cloud of smoke. The word from the top end is there is oil in Millican's lane. McMillen with a good looking pass, but will not improve...Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.860 sec., 330ft-2.189, 660ft-3.106/272.23 mph.

Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.777/323.89, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.727/322.50, Was #5

Kalitta is up in smoke around half track and clicks it off. Force with a good clean pass, but will not improve. she makes the fourth quickest pass of the session. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.843 sec., 330ft-2.148, 660ft-3.031/285.47 mph.

Right Lane: Leah Pritchett Runs 3.718/327.82, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.698/327.43, Was #2

This was a great side-by-side drag race...Langdon with the fifth quickest of the day. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.142, 660ft-3.031/286.56 mph. Pritchett launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of session. Leah Pritchett's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.123, 660ft-2.986/292.46 mph.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.815/273.55, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.723/309.27, Was #3
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.722/323.12, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.682/330.55, Was #1

Todd with a real nice pass, but will not improve. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.842 sec., 330ft-2.142, 660ft-3.013/290.57 mph. Brown was straight down the groove with a great looking pass to make the second quickest pass of the session. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.109, 660ft-2.983/289.82 mph.
