GLENDORA, Calif. -- NHRA announced today that it has added a new level of support to its contingency program, designed to increase racer award postings through broader contingency sponsor participation and support of NHRA racers at NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series and NHRA SPORTSnationals events.

The Complimentary Contingency Program is a no-fee contingency program designed for contingency partners who want to reward and support pro and sportsman racers at NHRA national events, but are not interested in taking advantage of the benefits available with the Major and Associate level NHRA Contingency sponsorship.

Complimentary Contingency Program partners are required to post for a minimum of eight NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series and SPORTSnationals events. Complimentary Contingency level award postings must be made on a single product and brand, which must be approved for posting by NHRA and be SFI approved where applicable. There will be no fees associated with the complimentary program. NHRA will provide product-use and decal verification for posted products. Partners will be responsible for providing payment to the racers.

"Our contingency program allows companies and sponsors to provide great incentives for NHRA racers to represent these companies on the track," said Jill McKenna, NHRA Contingency and Sr. Marketing Manager. "We believe this new level of complimentary contingency support will provide a platform to allow contingency partners a new option to support NHRA racers and to increase award postings in each category of racing at each NHRA national event. It's a win-win situation for all."

Through the program, sponsors will have direct access to current and future customers at all national events as well as the possibility of reaching up to 100,000 spectators at each of the 23 Mello Yello Series races. Companies will also receive mention on NHRA.com and in the master listing of the NHRA Contingency Partner's Guide in NHRA's official publication, National Dragster, which has a readership of more than 400,000 per issue.
