LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 15th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.202/184.30, Now #20; No Prior Run

4:45 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 27.80 inches, adjusted altitude 4,106 feet, track temperature 90 degrees.

Harris came up to the water box in the first round but did not make a pass, not sure why.

He goes right down the groove on this one but isn't quick enough to get in the field.

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 9.008/96.86, Now #28; Best prior run: 20.847/21.55, Was #28
Right Lane: Eddie Reed Runs 7.155/185.72, Now #20; No Prior Run

DeSantis was on a decent pass but had problems with a gear change late in the run and backed off the throttle. Reed made a clean pass but is well off the pace.

Left Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.172/188.46, Now #21; Best prior run: 13.601/27.01, Was #29
Right Lane: Brian Pretzel Runs 7.256/181.45, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.352/181.89, Was #25

Sullivan makes a full pass this time but is still on the outside. Pretzel improves but not enough to get in the field.

Left Lane: Luke Crowley Runs 7.483/188.10, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.553/182.87, Was #28
Right Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.345/184.19, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.340/181.91, Was #26

Crowley was bouncing around at the hit, improves, but can't get in the field. Bonham slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.238/184.50, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.387/182.58, Was #27
Right Lane: Robert Karlsson Runs 7.151/189.39, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.238/186.95, Was #23

Karlsson improves but can't get in the show. Lougheed moves up to the 24th spot.

Left Lane: Kalle Lyren Runs 7.157/184.93, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.239/181.91, Was #25
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.085/191.10, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.103/190.24, Was #16

Lyren improves but not enough to get in the field. Camarena improves and moves up to the 15th spot.

Left Lane: Melissa Surber Runs 7.206/185.59, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.141/181.45, Was #19
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.004/190.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.085/186.90, Was #16

Gann makes a clean pass to get in the field for now. Surber slows and stays in the 19th spot.

Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 7.111/184.95, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.050/186.02, Was #15

Smith drifted to the right all the way through the run. She improves but not enough to get in the field. Reed was drifting to the left all the way through the run and slows from his earlier attempt.

Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.955/192.91, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.050/188.17, Was #14

Ray makes the quickest pass of the round so far and moves all the way to the third spot for now. Underdahl improves and moves up a few spots in the order.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.024/190.06, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.050/188.41, Was #15
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.976/192.74, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.030/191.21, Was #12

Arana makes a clean pass and moves up to the fourth spot for now. Johnson improves to get in the field in the 11th spot for now.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.004/189.68, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.038/187.11, Was #15
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.990/190.89, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.029/190.54, Was #13

Pollacheck gets in the sixes and moves up to the sixth spot for now. Berry improves and moves up to the tenth spot and bumps out Johnson.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.974/191.92, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.025/190.57, Was #14
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.974/192.52, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.007/191.00, Was #12

Arana and Stoffer run the same time, Arana gets in the fourth spot with the faster speed, Stoffer gets in the fifth spot.

Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.929/192.93, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.001/188.17, Was #10

Krawiec makes the quickest pass of the round so far and moves into the second spot for now. Ellis gets in the sixes and moves up to the 11th spot for now.
