DALLASTOWN, Pa. --
Butner, who flew the flag for Speed Dawg's "Gear Bangin' Shift Knobs" on NHRA's three-race Western Swing this summer, was once again wearing the company's recognizable logo at the 31st annual NHRA Keystone Nationals in Reading, the home race for Speed Dawg founder Chris Figdore. "Bo's success in the sportsman ranks really made him stand out, and I have had a long-standing relationship with the KB Racing team," said Figdore. "When he came to KB Racing and I found out he was a Speed Dawg customer, I was stunned. It just made sense to put our logo on his car. We had a great Western Swing with Bo, but when he went to the semifinals at Maple Grove Raceway, I was ecstatic. That was the moment I decided we had to partner with Bo for the remainder of the season. He's a great driver, and I look forward to seeing what he can do in these last few races of his debut season." Figdore has been involved in NHRA drag racing since 2005, when his eye-catching Speed Dawg brand burst onto the scene as Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Eddie Krawiec's first sponsor. In 2006, Speed Dawg expanded to become an associate sponsor for Pro Stock Motorcycle's Karen Stoffer, and their partnership lasted five successful years. Speed Dawg's success continued through 2011 as an associate sponsor for all of the Nitro Fish entries, including the Pro Stock Motorcycle ridden by LE Tonglet, Greg Stanfield's Pro Stock car, and Steve Chrisman's Top Fuel dragster. In 2012, Speed Dawg formed an associate sponsor relationship with the KB Racing team and drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line that is still going strong. Earlier in 2015, KB Racing-powered Jimmy Alund ran with Speed Dawg on the doors of his Chevrolet Camaro before returning to Sweden to race for the FIA championship. "We are honored to see this partnership continue and to have Speed Dawg on our Chevrolet Camaro for these last few races," said Butner, an accomplished sportsman racer who debuted in Pro Stock earlier this season in Atlanta and has since raced at each event but the NHRA New England Nationals in Epping. Butner has consistently improved, and at the most recent event on the tour in Reading was the No. 2 qualifier for the second race in a row. It was also the first time the amiable driver from Floyds Knobs, Ind., recorded a semifinals performance in the Pro Stock category. "I won the Factory Stock Showdown in both Gainesville and Indy this year with Speed Dawg Shift Knobs in my Cobra Jet," continued Butner. "We were customers before we even knew Chris, and my fiancé, Randi Lyn Shipp, had two custom Speed Dawg Shift Knobs made for me for Christmas. It's a great product, and Chris turned a customer into a friend. He's a really fun guy, and he's ate up with racing. He has the bug, just like us. It's a good match."
