MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from final, round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual NHRA Keystone Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Joshua Haskett Runs 6.723/174.35, Now #1
Right Lane: Fred Tigges Runs 7.935/116.72, Now #2

10:03 a.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 57 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 29.69 inches, adjusted altitude 645 feet, track temperature 57 degrees.

Both cars shook the rear tires at 100 feet, both drivers pedaled their cars and both finished the run.

Left Lane: John Headley Runs 7.917/134.85, Now #2
Right Lane: Tyler Scott Runs 11.327/73.63, Now #4

Scott launched hard, the shook the tires and clicked it off. Headley's car came off the starting line slowly, then started to get up to speed, then he clicked it off early. Neither driver was under power at mid track.

Left Lane: Marie Ferriolo Runs 8.576/107.69, Now #4
Right Lane: DJ Cox Jr. Runs 9.193/98.61, Now #5

Cox shook the rear tires hard coming out of the gate. He bounced and pedaled, bounced and pedaled before he finally clicked it off. Ferriolo's car shook the tires, then made a move toward the center line before she clicked it off too.

Left Lane: Matt Gill Runs 5.823/260.51, Now #2
Right Lane: Paul Noakes Runs 5.535/263.87, Now #1

Noakes' car bounced around a lot on the track but he managed to keep it running straight to take over the top spot in the order for now. Gill's car also had some shake and and bounce ut he brought his Mustang into the number two spot for now.

Left Lane: Mickey Ferro Runs 6.036/180.84, Now #3
Right Lane: John Lombardo Jr. Runs 7.318/140.17, Now #5

Lombardo shook the tires, then started drifting toward the wall before he shut the car down. Ferro's run looked okay but then he clicked it off at mid track.

Left Lane: Dan Pomponio Runs 5.934/255.39, Now #3
Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 10.838/78.57, Now #11

Both cars launched, bot shook the rear tires about 200 feet out. Pomponio got back on the throttle to finish the run and move into the number three spot in the order for now. Gordon stayed off the throttle and coasted the rest of the way.

Left Lane: Todd Veney Runs 5.588/263.15, Now #2
Right Lane: Steve Harker Runs 5.690/254.81, Now #3

Two good runs put Veney and Harker in the second and third spots in the order. That's it for Top Alcohol Funny Car qualifying. Noakes will start eliminations from the number one spot, followed by Veney and Harker.
