CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Eighth annual NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Chuck Little Runs 9.576/114.95, Now #1

Little with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jay Payne Runs 6.023/241.54, Now #1
Right Lane: Shane Molinari Runs 6.066/221.92, Now #2

Payne with his quickest pass of the season with a clean pass. Jay Payne's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.677, 660ft-3.983/191.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.091. Molinari with a good pass to start the weekend. Shane Molinari's incremental times: 60ft-1.036 sec., 330ft-2.757, 660ft-4.027/196.44 mph, 1,000ft-5.102.
