BRISTOL, Tenn. --
"Thanks to our fans and sponsors, 2014 was one of the most successful years we've had in Thunder Valley," said Jerry Caldwell, General Manager for Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. "Their continued enthusiasm for straight-track racing and the other unique events we host at Bristol Dragway pushes us to continually increase the quality of their experience with us. "Our team strives to exceed expectations each year, and I know Thunder Valley's golden season will be no exception." Opened in 1965, Bristol Dragway kicks off its anniversary season with the Saturday, March 28th Street Fights. The popular series allows racing enthusiasts to tackle the famed quarter-mile in street legal rides ranging from minivans to motorcycles. The 2015 series is comprised of 14 events, scheduled for Thursday nights and select Saturdays. Local racers may also showcase their skills in the DER Bracket Racing Series, hosting its 7th season in Thunder Valley. Slated for ten weekends of competition in 2015, the popular grassroots racing series features competition in categories ranging from Super Pro to Junior Dragsters. Drag racing's stars roar into Bristol Dragway June 19-21 for the Father's Day weekend NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. The thunderous engines and extreme speeds of Nitro Harley, Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock classes fuel a one-of-a-kind celebration for Dad and promise thrills for the entire family. Every ticket serves as a pit pass, giving guests unparalleled access to the teams and drivers as they prepare to power their machines down the quarter-mile. The NHRA's future stars take to the straight-strip July 23-25 at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals presented by Viperizer. Drivers ranging in age from eight to 17 compete in both index and bracket races at the NHRA event and also power up their half-scale dragsters for the Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals presented by Mike Bos Chassis Craft scheduled for July 17-19, and the Huddleston Performance Fun Race on July 20-22 just ahead of the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals weekend. The events attract more than 500 racers from all states east of the Mississippi and provide a perfect opportunity for straight- track fans to watch the sport's newest talent. Thunder Valley also ensures fans of every manufacture have an opportunity to support and show-off their favorite classics. Ford Fun Weekend and Mopar Thunder team back up in 2015 for a doubleheader event on Aug. 28 - 29, and Bristol's Super Chevy Show is slated for Sept. 18 - 20. Home to one of the largest Super Chevy Shows in the country, Bristol Dragway concludes its weekend of bowtie action with Beef 'O' Brady's Thunder Valley Mayhem presented by Thompson Metal Services. Motocross, Megasaurus and mayhem invade the quarter-mile as some of the world's fastest machines take center-stage for a can't-miss weekend event sure to entertain the entire family. Another family favorite, Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness presented by Beef 'O' Brady's, creates car-crushing carnage at BMS on Saturday, July 25. Featuring some of the biggest names in the business, these extreme machines vie for the title of racing champion before producing pandemonium in their high-flying, metal-mashing freestyle performance. New for 2015, the National Fireworks Association ignites the Thunder Valley sky on Sept. 11-12 with a breathtaking display of the latest dazzling designs and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event shifts later in the 2015 schedule, passing down Bristol Dragway Sept. 24 - 26. >From grassroots racing to the 10,000-horsepower, 330-mph machines of the NHRA, the 50th anniversary of Bristol Dragway hosts events offering a range of appeal whether guests are searching for a unique, family experience, new converts to the sport or avid drag racing fans.
