POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 50th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.012/177.88, Now #15; Best prior run: 11.158/67.14, Was #20

Eddie Krawiec is number one at 6.834 and Elvira Karlsson is on the bump spot at 6.970.

There two are usually way up the ladder at this point. Better, this time, with Underdahl making a clean pass up into the #10 spot for now. Ray improves a ton, but is still off the pace.

Michael Ray's incremental times: 60ft-1.062 sec., 330ft-2.885, 660ft-4.442/156.84 mph, 1,000ft-5.809.

Harris' bike is done right off the line. Lougheed runs a career best ET, but still need to improve a lot to get into the field.

Rhett Lougheed's incremental times: 60ft-1.118 sec., 330ft-2.943, 660ft-4.502/156.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.880.

Two good improvements, but still well off the pace.

Gert-Jen Laseur's incremental times: 60ft-1.107 sec., 330ft-2.956, 660ft-4.548/152.64 mph, 1,000ft-5.961.

Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.945/192.17, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.171/184.19, Was #18

Side by side 6.94's and two more bikes bump into the show.

The pace is picking up and they leave together and run just 0.005 a part in the lights.

Chaz Kennedy's incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.852, 660ft-4.396/158.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.758.

Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 6.987/193.68, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.968/194.32, Was #13

Jim Underdahl is on the bump spot at 6.966.

Clean passes, but no improvements.

Elvira Karlsson's incremental times: 60ft-1.054 sec., 330ft-2.863, 660ft-4.422/156.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.799.
Freddie Camarena's incremental times: 60ft-1.081 sec., 330ft-2.912, 660ft-4.468/157.06 mph, 1,000ft-5.826.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.992/189.63, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.968/191.57, Was #14
Right Lane: Adam Arana Runs 8.181/115.91, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.936/193.24, Was #8

Arana has a great leave and is on a strong pass, but the bike continues to move steadily towards the center line. He finally gets a little too close and lifts.

Gann slows a little to stay #14.

Shawn Gann's incremental times: 60ft-1.064 sec., 330ft-2.886, 660ft-4.446/156.73 mph, 1,000ft-5.814.

Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.963/192.49, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.931/191.84, Was #7

Sullivan is away first and then slows down track.

Smith makes a strong pass, just 0.002 slower than session one.

Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.082 sec., 330ft-2.903, 660ft-4.445/158.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.799.

Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 7.013/189.73, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.924/193.27, Was #6

Savoie's pass looked like Adam Arana's with a steady move towards the center line. He slows from earlier.

Daddy Arana finds a little ET, but stays #5.

Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.845, 660ft-4.379/158.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.732.
Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.879, 660ft-4.440/155.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.826.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.832/197.62, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.842/196.59, Was #2

Smith's run is over right off the line, as the bike just jumps off the line. He is off the throttle and coasting.

Arana is strong off the line and powers on down the track and into the new top spot.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.848, 660ft-4.368/161.09 mph, 1,000ft-5.695.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.877/194.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.859/195.99, Was #3
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.884/191.67, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.834/195.76, Was #2

Two great looking passes, but no improvements to wrap up the session.

Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.065 sec., 330ft-2.864, 660ft-4.389/160.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.727.
