POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 50th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Jeff Isbell Runs 7.596/132.11, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 69 degrees, relative humidity 61 percent, barometer 28.90 inches, adjusted altitude 2,486 feet, track temperature 85 degrees.

Isbell with tire shake early and clicked it off.


Left Lane: Joey Grose Runs 7.509/186.95, Now #2
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.615/208.59, Now #1

Grose is straight down the groove...Stanfield is in the car his son has been driving. He makes a real nice pass as he is straight down the groove. Joey Grose's incremental times: 60ft-1.200 sec., 330ft-3.208, 660ft-4.870/148.31 mph, 1,000ft-6.301.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.583/210.67, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.583/209.30, Now #2

Hartford with a little wiggle right on the launch, ut stays with and Morgan with a nice pass. They run identical E.T.s and Hartford will get the higher position based on his faster speed. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.242/166.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.513.
Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.752, 660ft-4.233/166.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.508.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 10.672/85.04, Now #7
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.916/159.08, Now #4

Brogdon spun the tires right off the starting line and the car was sideways before he lifted. Anderson was on a good pass until it started to lose traction past half track and he pushed the clutch in early.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.560/210.47, Now #1
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.591/211.20, Now #4

McGaha launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.751, 660ft-4.223/167.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.491. Gaines with good clean pass to go to the number four spot. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.259/167.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.525.

Left Lane: Jonathan Gray Runs 6.555/211.46, Now #1
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.806/161.05, Now #7

Gra with a real nice pass, straight down the groove to go to the number one spot, Nobile clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.550/211.03, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.538/211.13, Now #1

The word in the pits is that Jeg Coughlin is going to take off next year... This was a great side-by-side drag race as Coughlin goes to the number one spot and Johnson goes to the number three spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.748, 660ft-4.217/167.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.483.
Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.211/167.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.473.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.545/211.39, Now #2
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.563/211.03, Now #6

Gray launched hard and was straight down the groove to go to the number one spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.747, 660ft-4.215/167.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.479. connolly with a real nice pass to get in the top half of the show. Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.232/167.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.497.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.532/211.46, Now #2
Right Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.526/211.99, Now #1

These two are battling for the Pro Stock Championship with Enders-Stevens leads Line by 17 points. This was a great side-by-side drag race as these two go to the number one and two spots. Line with the better early numbers, but Enders-Stevens with the better top end numbers as Enders-Stevens goes to the number one spot. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.740, 660ft-4.202/168.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.463. Line goes to the number two spot...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.736, 660ft-4.203/167.70 mph, 1,000ft-5.467. Enders-Stevens increases her lead to 18 points.
