GLENDORA, Calif. --
Division champions in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle/Sled will face off for the title of NHRA Summit National Champion, a coveted NHRA Wally championship trophy, a championship jacket, and their share of the champion's purse. Each of the 28 races is guaranteed to take home a minimum of $3,500. The activities kick off with a banquet honoring all the competitors at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum on Thursday evening of race week with special guests including Summit Pro Stock racers Greg Anderson and Jason Line, Funny Car pilot Tim Wilkerson, and the Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle team of Andrew Hines and Eddie Krawiec. Time trials will take place on Friday and Saturday of the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals before eliminations get underway on Sunday afternoon before what should be a packed house at Auto Club Raceway. Prior to eliminations, the Summit Racing Series drivers will be introduced during the starting line pre-race activities. This year's national championship field includes second- and third-generation racers, past national and divisional champions, grandparents, NHRA Summit Jr. Drag Racing League graduates, and the first female motorcycle competitor. Upwards of 40,000 racers compete at NHRA Member Tracks across North America with nearly 4,000 advancing to one of seven division finals across the country, making the NHRA Summit Racing Series the largest organized series in drag racing nationwide.
