Mercier never
got the engine fired and was pushed back to the pits. Litton went up in smoke as soon as he hit the
throttle. Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 8.753/96.76, Now #10; No Prior Run Right Lane: Mark Taliaferro Runs 11.787/92.57, Now #12; Best prior run: 10.018/90.59, Was #11 Cowie gets about sixty feet out, goes up in smoke and backs off the throttle. Taliaferro rattles the tires off the line and gives up on the run. Left Lane: Chris Demke Runs 5.378/271.08, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.724/138.91, Was #6 Right Lane: Fred Hanssen Runs 5.531/261.17, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.795/106.47, Was #7 Demke makes the quickest pass of the day so far. Hanssen stays on the throttle this time and makes a decent pass. Left Lane: Rishi Kanick Runs 5.564/254.81, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.396/126.05, Was #8 Right Lane: Derik Milanesio Runs 9.991/88.06, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.390/263.77, Was #2 Milanesio had problems and was off the throttle early. Kanick made a full pass. Right Lane: Aaron Olivarez Runs 10.427/88.26, Now #13; No Prior Run Olivarez started out okay then had traction problems about 300 feet out and clicked it off. Left Lane: Mike Strasburg Runs 5.330/270.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.447/266.90, Was #4 Right Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 10.419/91.11, Now #11; Best prior run: 9.850/82.59, Was #11 Mercier had problems getting the engine to crank earlier in this session and is back for another attempt. Strasburg was supposed to run with Olivarez but had issues getting the car to fire. Mercier had problems at the hit and had to give up on the run. Strasburg goes right down
the groove with the quickest pass of the day so far. Left Lane: Ross Stickler No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 12.555/60.52, Was #14 Strickler strikes the tires at the hit and is off the throttle quickly. He stops at half track and receives no time.
