LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 time trials in Top Fuel Harley at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, Short Line Express Market Gambler Shootout listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mike Pelrine Runs 6.434/214.89, Now #2
Right Lane: Tommy Grimes Runs 6.257/226.43, Now #1

Grimes makes a pretty decent run out of the box. Pelrine makes a clean, straight pass.

Left Lane: Damian Cownden Runs 6.431/215.89, Now #2
Right Lane: Tii Tharpe Runs 6.637/207.62, Now #4

Tharpe drifted to the left early but was able to keep it off the centerline. Cownden made a good first pass.

Left Lane: Kevin Boyer Runs 23.118/23.52, Now #6
Right Lane: Brian Jernigan Runs 6.657/211.96, Now #5

Boyer lost traction at the hit and was off the throttle quickly. Jernigan made a full pass.

Left Lane: Steve Dorn Runs 7.289/166.62, Now #6
Right Lane: Lyle Newton Runs 12.199/76.46, Now #7

Newton made a move toward the centerline early, got about 400 feet out and backed off the throttle. Dorn was on a decent pass but was off the throttle early.

Left Lane: Rickey House Runs 6.486/214.45, Now #4
Right Lane: Tracy Kile Runs 6.587/220.30, Now #5

A good side-by-side, both right down the groove.
