This is the first time Smith and Walsh have faced each other in eliminations. Walsh with the starting line advantage, but Smith had the lead until half track when Walsh and the turbo car was able to chase him down. Walsh with the quickest pass of the event for the event for the win.

Smith is 6 - 3 against Coughlin in prior events. there is a staging battle as neither driver wants to stage after pre-staging. They leave together and then it is all Smith for the win. He will give up lane choice to Walsh in the final.
