CONCORD, N.C. - 10:30 a.m. - Heavy rains Thursday afternoon loosened the rubber on the top end of the zMax dragstrip, eventually bringing racing to a
halt at 10 a.m Friday, right after the first pair of Super Gas cars made their first time trial runs.
The only remedy for the situation is to scrape and re-prep the top half of the track (the problem starts between the 660 and
1,000-foot markers).
That will take about another hour, then racing will resume with Top Alcohol, followed by the Pro and Pro Mod racers (two rounds).
Sportsman competition (Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas) will be moved to the end of the day.
A revised schedule is being prepared and we will post it as soon as it's released.
