KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Doug Winters and Winters Racing announced today that Meritor, a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets, would be joining their team for the 2014 NHRA Pro Modified season as their primary sponsor.

"We are definitely thrilled to have formed a partnership with Meritor," said Doug Winters. "It is an honor for us and for the entire team to have the backing of a company of their caliber and we are looking forward to a great season."

Meritor currently sponsors NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car (TAFC) driver, Paul Noakes. "With the addition of Winters Racing to the success that Paul Noakes has already provided Meritor, I am sure we will more then double our brand awareness among NHRA racers and fans," stated Marty Hetherington, Mgr, Brand and Marketing. With the creation of a Meritor team, Winters Racing's '57 Chevy Pro Mod will be dressed in a paint scheme similar to Noakes' TAFC.

Along with Meritor, Winters Racing will be working with Truck Supply of South Carolina to focus on marketing and business avenues related to commercial trucking service industry. Truck Supply Company of South Carolina has been in business for over 50 years serving the entire South Carolina area. With 3 locations in the state they have a huge selection of truck parts and a service center quipped with a large onsite inventory. "We plan on working hand in hand with Truck Supply of South Carolina, " stated Doug. "Truck Supply of South Carolina was just recently named 2013 Truck Parts & Service Distributor of the Year. So they definitely know their industry. With all the race teams out there with road tractors and others with Toter and Motor homes built on road tractor chassis, drag racing is a perfect venue for not only Meritor, but Truck Supply of South Carolina."

For 2014 Winters Racing will also continue representing their long time partners; Lucas Oil, MavTV, Optima Batteries, Mickey Thompson, NGK, Hedman Hedders, King Engine Bearings, Waterloo and Richmond Gear. "These partnerships got us to where we are today," stated Doug. "We are very proud to be able to continue our efforts with these great companies. Adding Meritor will enhance everyone's success with our team."

Doug and Winters Racing will particpate and compete at NHRA Pro Modified events across the United States in 2014. The season gets started March 14th at Gainesville Florida with the NHRA Gator Nationals. Please visit www.WintersRacing.com to view their other race dates and activities.
