BROWNSBURG, Ind. --

Katie and Hunter
Morgan Lucas, who drove the GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster last year to a fourth-place finish in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, and his wife Katie welcomed their first child, Hunter, into the world on Saturday evening.

Hunter was born at 5:37 p.m. EST on Nov. 30 and is 7 pounds and 20.5 inches long. Mother and son are both happy and healthy following the delivery.

"Katie did an amazing job and is already an outstanding mother," Morgan said. "I'm enjoying the moment right now, and I'm already a sucker for this little guy.

"I love my family and have God to thank for it."

Lucas will drive part time in 2014 when the season begins with the NHRA Winternationals in February.
