This is his first final for the 2013 season.
Manzo has been to 129 career TAFC final rounds, with 103 prior wins. This is his
sixth final round of the season, with four prior wins. He also had one national event win in Pro Comp, prior to the creation of the
TAFC category. He has announced his retirement, so this is his final round as a driver. This is the second time he's been in the
final round at the final race of the year here at Pomona, losing to Brad Anderson in the '86 Finals. He is no stranger to the
winner's circle at Pomona, winning the Winternationals here three times.
Thompson's crew worked hard between rounds, replacing
burned pistons to make the call for this historic round, but his luck ran out in the middle of the run and he slowed. Manzo took
the lead in the first 60 feet and he went right down the middle of the groove for his final (105th) win.
