POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Summit Pro at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

Dylan Kiser from Corryton, Tenn. representing Bristol Dragway and Division 2. NHRA Summit Jr. Drag Racing League graduate with lots of success. This is his first year in a big car and has won 7 of 10 finals he has been in this year.

Rick Reynolds from San Diego, Calif. representing Barona and Division 7. Track operator at Barona 1/8th-mile Drag Strip and he is one of three racers here representing the track.

Kiser with the starting line advantage and the win by 0.0101 seconds (approximately 2 feet).

Kim Norrup from Leafriver, Ill. representing Byron Dragway and Division 3.

Whitehead is just a little too quick on the tree and turns on the red light.

Merrill with the starting line advantage and the win by 0.0346 seconds (approximately 7 feet). He will face in Kiser the semifinal.
