Payne is the 2013 Western Region Champion. He is currently tied with Steve Gasparrelli, but has the tie breaker. A win here just add to his points.
Harker's converter car shook the tires hard at the green and he has to lift.
Payne makes a strong clean pass for the easy win.

Jay Payne's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.560, 660ft-3.791/202.70 mph, 1,000ft-4.830.

Westerfield has an air line brake right as they are staring the car and has to be pushed. back.
Leanders' Monte Carlo leaves hard and starts to slide out towards the wall. He stays after it and drives back into the groove to run the top speed of the meet.

Ulf Leanders' incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.556, 660ft-3.751/208.62 mph, 1,000ft-4.761.

Lombardo gets the starting line advantage, but Whiteley is dead even at sixty feet. She has the power and pulls steadily ahead for a decisive win.
Leanders will have lane choice in round two.

John Lombardo Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.614, 660ft-3.861/200.92 mph, 1,000ft-4.901.

Thompson leaves first and is never headed. He makes the best ET of the round and takes the easy win.
Bartone was late and then had his hands full with tire shake and spin . He slaps the pedal and gets it back in the groove, but Thompson is long gone.
Thompson will have lane choice by over a tenth on Payne next round.
Tony Bartone's incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.551, 660ft-3.772/203.61 mph, 1,000ft-4.801.
Clint Thompson's incremental times: 60ft-0.963 sec., 330ft-2.502, 660ft-3.705/206.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.731.
