Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #2

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 29th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Brandon Booher Runs 5.307/269.56, Now #1; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 56 percent, barometer 29.45 inches, adjusted altitude 2,842 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

Booher launched hard and was straight down the groove to go to the number one spot with a great pass. Brandon Booher's incremental times: 60ft-0.895 sec., 330ft-2.353, 660ft-3.498/216.06 mph, 1,000ft-4.476.

Left Lane: Doug Foley Runs 5.523/249.95, Now #10; Best prior run: 16.360/61.16, Was #22

Foley with a good pass and made a big move in the right direction to go to the number ten spot. Doug Foley's incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.485, 660ft-3.653/214.59 mph, 1,000ft-4.646.

Left Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 6.206/202.03, Now #21; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Tom Fox Jr. Runs 5.606/256.02, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.497/150.53, Was #20

Horner was burning head gasket right at the hit, and gets a number on the board. Fox Jr. with a great pass, a career best E.T. and speed to get in the show. Tom Fox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.461, 660ft-3.684/202.67 mph, 1,000ft-4.727.

Left Lane: Al Moeser Runs 5.689/234.57, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.551/244.34, Was #22
Right Lane: Mike Burns Runs 9.070/91.91, Now #21; Best prior run: 5.817/242.32, Was #20

Moeser slows on the top end and he will not get in the show. Burns with violent tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Mike Kosky Runs 5.662/246.66, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.792/237.25, Was #20
Right Lane: Jonathan Pickett Runs 5.634/247.57, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.762/248.16, Was #19

Kosky improves on his run from earlier today, but will not get in the show. Pickett with a real nice pass, a career best E.T. to get in the show. Jonathan Pickett's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.447, 660ft-3.670/200.89 mph, 1,000ft-4.729.

Left Lane: Frank Schuster Runs 5.777/242.15, Now #20; Best prior run: 5.708/246.08, Was #20
Right Lane: Richard Bourke Runs 5.499/263.62, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.651/250.23, Was #17

No help here for Schuster and he will stay in the number 20 spot. Bourke keep it hitting on all eight to go to the number nine spot. Richard Bourke's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.492, 660ft-3.659/214.31 mph, 1,000ft-4.650.

Left Lane: Ken Perry Runs 5.476/260.31, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.649/257.09, Was #17
Right Lane: Karen Stalba Runs 5.608/237.38, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.637/235.76, Was #16

Perry with a real nice pass to get in the show. Ken Perry's incremental times: 60ft-0.944 sec., 330ft-2.434, 660ft-3.613/210.24 mph, 1,000ft-4.619. Stalba improves, but doesn't get off the bump spot. Karen Stalba's incremental times: 60ft-0.950 sec., 330ft-2.485, 660ft-3.669/210.93 mph, 1,000ft-4.689.

Left Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 5.673/259.61, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.592/259.31, Was #14
Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.573/251.67, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.527/256.94, Was #13

No help here for Dreher and he will stay in the number 14 spot. Shields with another good pass, but will not improve and stays in the number 13 spot. Jared Dreher's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.630, 660ft-3.812/212.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.813.
Duane Shields' incremental times: 60ft-0.959 sec., 330ft-2.518, 660ft-3.686/213.06 mph, 1,000ft-4.693.

Left Lane: John Finke Runs 5.408/259.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.500/249.07, Was #11
Right Lane: Jeff Veale Runs 5.479/270.59, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.456/271.95, Was #8

Finke launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number three spot. John Finke's incremental times: 60ft-0.949 sec., 330ft-2.456, 660ft-3.592/217.84 mph, 1,000ft-4.562. Veale with another good pass, but will not improve. Jeff Veale's incremental times: 60ft-0.965 sec., 330ft-2.517, 660ft-3.684/216.69 mph, 1,000ft-4.654.

Left Lane: Rich McPhillips Runs 5.434/260.56, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.434/261.22, Was #8
Right Lane: Dan Page Runs 5.445/268.54, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.434/264.13, Was #7

This was a great side-by-side drag race as McPhillips matched his time from earlier today and Page was just a few ticks slower than earlier today. Rich McPhillips' incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.475, 660ft-3.618/218.44 mph, 1,000ft-4.590.
Dan Page's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.505, 660ft-3.647/219.40 mph, 1,000ft-4.615.

Left Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.378/263.41, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.420/254.52, Was #5
Right Lane: Wayne Morris Runs 5.492/261.93, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.432/260.06, Was #6

Samsel launched hard and was straight down the groove to move up the ladder two spots. Robin Samsel's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.442, 660ft-3.568/221.31 mph, 1,000ft-4.536. Morris with another good pass, but will not improve. Wayne Morris' incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.436, 660ft-3.624/209.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.634.

Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.492/252.43, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.408/258.02, Was #5

Fricke with another good pass, but will not improve and stays in the number five spot. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.962 sec., 330ft-2.493, 660ft-3.643/218.44 mph, 1,000ft-4.623.
