MADISON, Ill. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.085/187.00, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.970/190.67, Was #16

2:29 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.54 inches, adjusted altitude 2,993 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Berry slows from his earlier attempt and will stay on the bump.


Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.203/191.65, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.920/193.02, Was #14
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.010/191.10, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.026/188.81, Was #17

Wells is not in the field and has this last attempt to bump out Berry. He makes his best pass of the weekend but comes up a little short. DeSantis slows from his earlier attempt and will stay in the 14th spot for now.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.885/195.70, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.904/193.90, Was #12
Right Lane: Shawn Gann No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.926/194.13, Was #15

Gann elects not to make a pass giving Tonglet the single. Tonglet improves and moves up to the ninth spot for now.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.917/193.85, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.901/193.29, Was #12
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.962/194.49, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.908/196.27, Was #13

Hines and Underdahl both make clean, straight passes but neither improve.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.893/194.41, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.888/192.58, Was #10
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.916/192.93, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.899/194.38, Was #11

Two more clean passes but neither improve.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.927/193.85, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.876/195.25, Was #8
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.893/191.89, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.872/195.45, Was #6

No improvement for either rider.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.924/195.03, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.873/193.52, Was #7
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.932/190.32, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.864/195.82, Was #5



Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.840/194.97, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.830/196.99, Was #2
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.120/189.71, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.856/195.85, Was #4

Ray makes another good run but can't re-take the pole. Pollacheck was off the throttle early.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.852/196.79, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.796/198.58, Was #1
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.866/196.30, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.850/195.68, Was #3

Arana slows from his best attempt but will start from the top spot. Smith slows a little and stays in the third spot.
