MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 6.920/193.02, Now #11; No Prior Run

11:55 a.m. DeSantis goes right down the groove with his quickest and fastest ever pass to get in the field in the 11th spot for now.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.908/196.27, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 6.970/190.67, Now #15; No Prior Run

Underdahl makes his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the 11th spot for now. Berry makes his first pass in the 6's this weekend and gets in the 15th spot for now.

Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.026/188.81, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.901/193.29, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.933/192.25, Was #14

Hines makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up to the 10th spot for now. Wells improves and gets in on the bump spot for now.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.926/194.13, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.926/194.35, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.904/193.90, Was #11

Tonglet drifted to the right early in the run and wasn't able to improve on his earlier pass yesterday. Gann makes his best pass of the weekend and gets in the show in the 15th spot, bumping out Wells.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.864/195.82, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.921/192.49, Was #14
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.957/194.10, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.888/192.58, Was #8

Hall makes his best run of the weekend and moves all the way to the fourth spot for now. Savoie slows and drops a spot in the order.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.923/193.63, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.899/194.38, Was #10
Right Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.919/195.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.876/195.25, Was #7

Johnson slows from his earlier attempts and stays in the tenth spot. Arana slows and stays in the seventh spot.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.856/195.85, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.881/194.58, Was #8
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.890/194.91, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.873/193.52, Was #5

Pollacheck improves and moves up to the fourth spot. No help for Arana.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.872/195.45, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.873/193.02, Was #7
Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.830/196.99, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.844/195.79, Was #1

Ray makes his quickest pass ever and improves on his number one qualifying effort. Krawiec improves just enough to move up a spot to sixth.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 15.646/39.96, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.850/195.68, Was #3
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.796/198.58, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.845/195.87, Was #2

Arana makes an impressive pass, setting both ends of the track record, and moves into the top spot to end this session. Smith has problems right off the line.
