Reichert gets out of the gate first and goes right down the groove to take the win.

Whiteley is 2 - 1 against Severance in prior events.

This was an exciting one. Severance gets out of the groove and starts moving to the left. He starts across the centerlineand tries to correct. The dragster gets up an the left side wheels, takes out the half track timing blocks and continues down track. The dragster stays on two wheels, at 180 MPH, for about 300 feet, then Severance is able to get the dragster back on all fours and finish the race in the groove. meanwhile, Whiteley goes right down the groove with another clean pass to take the win and move into the finals against Reichert.
