ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 24.467/33.91, Now #18; No Prior Run

3:43 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 29.34 inches, adjusted altitude 3,036 feet, track temperature 116 degrees.

Harris gets about 100 feet out and the bike noses over, not sure why.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.897/194.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 13.896/53.95, Was #17
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.893/194.07, Now #2; No Prior Run

Arana Jr. had problems on his first attempt and is not qualified. Smith broke on the line and did not get a time.

Smith makes an impressive pass here and gets in the show in the second spot. Arana makes a good run and gets in just behind Smith in the third spot.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.071/189.28, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.337/187.44, Was #16
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.083/187.03, Now #16; Best prior run: 11.192/46.11, Was #18

Johnson improves and gets in the show, but on the bump spot. Phillips improves to get off the bump.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.963/193.54, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.027/192.44, Was #12
Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.899/194.21, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.440/162.70, Was #18

Ray goes right down the groove and gets in the field, bumping out Johnson. Underdahl improves and moves up a spot to 11th.

Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.132/189.42, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.161/186.28, Was #18

Camarena improves but cannot get in the show.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.969/190.57, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.971/189.79, Was #12
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.034/188.81, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.078/185.59, Was #16

Hines makes a decent pass but stays in the 12th spot. Berry improves and gets off the bump.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.941/191.46, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.955/189.52, Was #10
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.005/190.75, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.053/187.89, Was #15

Gann improves and moves up a spot to 14th. Pollacheck improves and moves up to the ninth spot.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.902/193.27, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.937/188.91, Was #7
Right Lane: LE Tonglet No Time, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.955/190.78, Was #10

Tonglet has problems and does not make a pass. Krawiec makes a good run and moves up a spot to fifth.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.942/193.32, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.936/191.27, Was #7
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.913/192.55, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.939/189.66, Was #8

Savoie improves and moves up a couple of spots to sixth. Arana slows and drops a spot to eighth.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.993/194.21, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.846/195.42, Was #1
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.977/178.71, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.933/190.22, Was #7

Arana slows a lot from his earlier pass but stays in the top spot. Hall slows and will stay in the seventh spot.
