ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Paul Pittman Runs 8.657/108.18, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.38 inches, adjusted altitude 2,554 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Pittman made a move toward the centerline right at the launch and reeled it in, but then pushed in the clutch.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.628/208.33, Now #1
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.655/208.65, Now #2

Hartford was loose right at the hit, but reeled it in to make a good pass. McGaha was loose on the starting line and reeled it in to make a good pass. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.773, 660ft-4.260/165.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.546.

Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.609/209.07, Now #1

Stanfield with a real nice pass to start the weekend...he was straight down the groove to go to the number one spot. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.762, 660ft-4.246/165.84 mph, 1,000ft-5.529. Kent with a clean pass...Steve Kent's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.274/165.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.560.

Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.601/209.33, Now #2

This was good side-by-side drag race as these two go to the top of the list. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.217/167.66 mph, 1,000ft-5.489.
Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.240/166.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.522.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.607/209.98, Now #3
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.911/175.64, Now #8

Brogdon was loose right at the hit, but reeled it in and made a good pass to go to the number three spot. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.251/166.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.531. Gaines pushed in the clutch early and coasted through the 1320.

Right Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.557/210.93, Now #1

Enders-Stevens with a great pass, straight down the groove to the number one spot. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.747, 660ft-4.215/167.61 mph, 1,000ft-5.487. Anderson was right there with her to go to the number three spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.225/167.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.497.

Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.563/210.60, Now #3

These two were side-by-side all the way down the quarter mile as Gray goes to the number three spot and Nobile to the number five spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.238/166.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.511.
Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.219/167.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.492.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.564/211.23, Now #4
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.567/211.16, Now #5

Johnson was drifting out of the groove all the way down the quarter mile and got real close to the centerline on the top end. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.229/167.55 mph, 1,000ft-5.497. Line ties his teammates E.T. but gets the higher position based on his faster speed. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.225/167.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.497.

Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.570/211.56, Now #7

Edwards gets into the top half of the show to the number seven spot. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.762, 660ft-4.232/167.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.502. coughlin is just a couple spots behind him to the number nine spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.760, 660ft-4.236/166.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.510.
