ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Redell Harris No Time, Now #1

12:16 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.38 inches, adjusted altitude 2,554 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Harris does his burnout, starts to stage, then loses fire.


Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.161/186.28, Now #1
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.337/187.44, Now #2



Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.939/189.66, Now #1
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.027/192.44, Now #2

Savoie makes a clean pass to take the early pole. Underdahl makes a clean pass to get in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.078/185.59, Now #4
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.999/185.18, Now #2

Smith makes a decent pass to move into the second spot for now. Berry makes a clean pass but is probably going to a little off the pace.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 11.192/46.11, Now #8
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.971/189.79, Now #2

Johnson gets about 300 feet out and the bike goes silent, not sure why. Hines goes right down the groove with a decent pass to get in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.053/187.89, Now #6
Right Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.936/191.27, Now #1

Arana makes the quickest pass of the round so far to take the pole for now. Gann makes a clean pass but is well behind Arana.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.955/190.78, Now #4
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.937/188.91, Now #2

Krawiec makes a good run to get in the show just behind Adam Arana. Tonglet makes a decent pass to get in the fourth spot for now.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.933/190.22, Now #1
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.955/189.52, Now #6

Hall goes right down the groove with the quickest pass so far and moves into the top spot for now. Pollacheck makes a decent pass to get in the sixth spot for now.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.440/162.70, Now #15
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.846/195.42, Now #1

Arana makes an impressive pass, the quickest of the round by a bunch, to take the pole for now. Ray gets in the show for now but is well off the pace.

Left Lane: Matt Smith No Time, Now #18
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 13.896/53.95, Now #17

The tree came down and Smith's bike never moved. Arana gets about 300 feet out and nosed over, not sure why.
