CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 11.509/70.12, Now #13; No Prior Run

1:02 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 29.38 inches, adjusted altitude 2,371 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

Harris' bike stumbled off the line, then stumbled again between shifts and he backed off the throttle.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 6.933/191.59, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.974/190.94, Was #9
Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.084/185.61, Now #13; No Prior Run

Berry makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up a spot to eighth. Pippin improves and gets in the field for now.

Left Lane: Anne Hansen Runs 7.346/177.70, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.322/159.01, Now #14; No Prior Run

Wells has problems late in the run and slows. Hansen makes her quickest pass of the weekend to get in the field for now.

Left Lane: Dawn Minturn Runs 7.042/188.28, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.984/190.78, Now #13; No Prior Run

Underdahl makes his best pass of the weekend and gets in the field in the 13th spot for now. Minturn improves and gets in the 14th spot for now.

Wesley Wells is on the bump spot at 7.322.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 7.032/186.38, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.012/188.99, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.977/190.70, Was #10

Savoie was on a decent pass but slowed at the end of the run. Smith slows from her earlier pass and stays in the tenth spot.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.956/192.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.980/191.40, Was #11
Right Lane: Steve Johnson No Time, Now #21; No Prior Run

Johnson has problems in the waterbox and does not make a pass. Gann improves and moves up a spot to tenth.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.991/188.89, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.955/187.83, Was #9
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.024/189.87, Now #14; No Prior Run

Tonglet slows from his best pass yesterday but makes it in the field for now. Pollacheck slows and will stay in the ninth spot.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.974/189.15, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.932/191.54, Was #7
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.925/191.65, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.982/192.85, Was #12

Hector makes the quickest pass of the round so far and moves up to the sixth spot for now. Adam makes his worst pass of the weekend and drops a spot to eighth.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.954/193.32, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.898/193.96, Was #4

Neither driver improves from their earlier runs yesterday.

Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.908/192.88, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.882/194.49, Was #2

Smith makes an impressive pass, right down the groove with the quickest pass of the weekend to improve on his top qualifying time. Ray makes the second quickest pass of the round but is well behind Smith.
