CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Pat Stoken Runs 21.404/39.84, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.10 inches, adjusted altitude 3,395 feet.

Stoken making his NHRA Pro Mod debut...he shakes hard and clicks it off.


Left Lane: Jim Laurita Runs 6.036/241.11, Now #1
Right Lane: David Hance Runs 7.987/165.56, Now #2

Laurita making his NHRA debut...he is straight down the groove. Jim Laurita's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.698, 660ft-4.000/191.40 mph, 1,000ft-5.104. Hance shakes and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow No Time, Now #5
Right Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 9.498/97.81, Now #3

Stevenson is out for the first time this season. He has a lot of tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Brad Personett Runs 6.065/250.00, Now #3
Right Lane: Craig Cawte Runs 6.056/236.75, Now #2

This was a good side-by-side drag race. Cawte launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Craig Cawte's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.674, 660ft-3.983/189.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.107. Personett was right there with him. Brad Personett's incremental times: 60ft-1.086 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.079/194.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.162.

Left Lane: Kevin Fiscus Runs 6.045/246.21, Now #2
Right Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 6.062/240.08, Now #4

Fiscus with a great looking pass to go to the number two spot. This is a his career fastest pass. Kevin Fiscus' incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.049/195.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.131. Flamholc with a nice pass to start the weekend. Adam Flamholc's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.686, 660ft-4.007/189.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.123.

Right Lane: Kevin McCurdy Runs 6.094/239.27, Now #6

McCurdy with a good pass to get into the top half of the field. Kevin McCurdy's incremental times: 60ft-1.064 sec., 330ft-2.724, 660ft-4.037/189.34 mph, 1,000ft-5.154.

Left Lane: Eric Latino Runs 6.031/222.18, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 7.673/118.18, Now #8

Latino launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Eric Latino's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.653, 660ft-3.960/190.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.069. winters started to shake early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 6.145/228.27, Now #9
Right Lane: Harold Martin Runs 6.086/234.41, Now #7

Chris Juliano's incremental times: 60ft-1.023 sec., 330ft-2.699, 660ft-4.027/179.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.173.
Harold Martin's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.666, 660ft-3.995/186.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.127.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 8.574/140.77, Now #13
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 5.984/243.15, Now #1

Matusek shook and made a move toward the centerline and clicked it off. Knowles with a great looking pass straight down Broadway to go to the number one spot. Mike Knowles' incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.678, 660ft-3.970/192.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.065.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 11.883/71.57, Now #16
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 6.013/242.76, Now #2

King with a lot of tire shake and clicks it off. Farber is straight down Broadway to go to the number two spot. Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.670, 660ft-3.977/190.75 mph, 1,000ft-5.085.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.970/244.74, Now #1
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.452/217.77, Now #13

Rowe launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.658, 660ft-3.955/193.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.051. Satterfield slowed on the top end.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 7.536/127.13, Now #15
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.999/240.08, Now #3

Smith shakes and clicks it off. Castellana with a great pass to go to the number three spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.669, 660ft-3.968/192.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.068.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 6.025/242.10, Now #5
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 6.146/238.64, Now #15

Janis with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.020 sec., 330ft-2.685, 660ft-3.988/191.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.094. Lang gets into the show. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-1.029 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.071/187.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.200.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 8.763/106.37, Now #22
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.977/241.37, Now #2

Coughlin shook early and clicked it off. Smith was straight down the groove with a great looking pass to go to the number two spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.655, 660ft-3.948/192.66 mph, 1,000ft-5.048.
