Top Alcohol Dragster Final, Round 4 Eliminations

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 59th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals:

This is only the second time in history that the #1 and 2 qualifiers have met in the final round of TAD. The other time was 1985 when Bill Walsh beat Lee Young. Demke has 10 career wins and 13 runner-ups, so far and has one win and three runner-ups this year. Whiteley has 20 career wins and 6 runner-ups. He has won once and been runner-up twice this year. Whiteley is 11 - 5 against Demke in prior events and Whiteley is 3 - 2 against Demke in prior final rounds.

Whiteley is away first and Demke gets briefly by in front right before 60 feet, He's not out in front for long, as Whiteley starts a steady pull towards the finish line. He's back out in front just before the 330 foot lights and opens up the gap going down the track to take the fifteen foot Top Alcohol Dragster Championship.
