Top Alcohol Dragster Round 2 Eliminations

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 59th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals:

This is the first time Booher and Olivarez have faced each other in eliminations.

Olivarez struggled early in qualifying, but found his pace at the end. Booher gets a big head start and then slowed after shaking hard. Olivarez flies on by and makes his best pass of the weekend in the easy win.

Aaron Olivarez's incremental margins: 60ft(0.014), 330 ft(0.149), 660ft(0.692), 1,000ft(1.619). MOV: 2.7501 seconds (more than 100 feet).

Brandon Booher's incremental times: 60ft-1.026 sec., 330ft-2.672, 660ft-4.345/129.78 mph, 1,000ft-6.225.
Aaron Olivarez's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.475, 660ft-3.605/222.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.558.

Samsel is up in smoke at the hit and quickly shuts off. Cowie slows from his qualifying best in the easy win.

Demke is 2 - 0 against McPhillips in prior events.

Two strong passes, with Demke getting just a 0.002 lead at the green. He pulls steadily ahead to half track, where McPhillips starts to close the gap. There isn't enough track left and Demke has the win.

He will have lane choice over Cowie in round three.

Whiteley is 4 - 1 against Meyer in prior events.

Meyer gets a lead at the green, but Whitley is quickly out in front before the sixty foot lights. Meyer's slicks are smoking hard and he lifts.

Whiteley makes his quickest pass of the weekend in the easy win. He will keep lane choice over Olivarez in round three.
