POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 48th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Rhett Lougheed No Time, Now #1

1:21 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 28.80 inches, adjusted altitude 2,670 feet, track temperature 87 degrees.

Lougheed's Suzuki went left and across the center line right after the tree and will not get a time.


Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.104/189.02, Now #1
Right Lane: Kieth Burley Runs 7.805/185.46, Now #2

Burley slows

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 6.999/191.48, Now #1
Right Lane: James Surber Runs 7.152/183.92, Now #3

Tonglet runs the first six of the session.

Left Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.031/183.07, Now #2
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.124/186.92, Now #4

Two clean passes into the current field. Sullivan ran the Sportsman Motorcycle class last week at the LODRS race.

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.103/187.83, Now #3
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.145/183.84, Now #6

Guidera leaves well before the green and is still struggling with his tune up.

Nice clean pass for Harris.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 11.629/63.33, Now #10
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.124/187.23, Now #5

Underdahl's bike drifts towards the centerline and he is able to drive it back into the groove, but slows.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.025/189.23, Now #2
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 10.433/78.99, Now #11

Ellis is off the throttle early. Phillips moves into the new number 2 spot.

Michael Phillips' incremental times: 60ft-1.080 sec., 330ft-2.902, 660ft-4.464/156.46 mph, 1,000ft-5.841.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.927/193.07, Now #1
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.931/190.78, Now #2

Two great passes to the top of the ladder.

John Hall's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.857, 660ft-4.405/158.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.762.

Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.951/193.10, Now #3

Gann's bike drives to the center line and he runs right down the stripe to the lights.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.898/191.08, Now #1
Right Lane: Michael Ray No Time, Now #18

Ray engine dies on the line after the burnout. It restarts, but dies at the green.

Near a career best for Pollacheck on a near perfect pass.

Scotty Pollacheck's incremental times: 60ft-1.045 sec., 330ft-2.837, 660ft-4.371/158.73 mph, 1,000ft-5.728.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.882/193.40, Now #1
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.933/191.95, Now #5

Wesley Wells is on the bump spot at 7.124.

Smith runs a new top speed of the meet and takes over the latest number one spot.

Stoffer drives well into the current top eight.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.050 sec., 330ft-2.845, 660ft-4.376/159.34 mph, 1,000ft-5.724.
Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.062 sec., 330ft-2.866, 660ft-4.412/158.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.768.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.102/192.28, Now #12
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.889/194.49, Now #2

The Arena family to the line.

Arana Sr. has problems off the line with a 1.149 sixty foot time and is in the show for now.

Arana Jr. runs close to the top spot and runs the latest top speed.

Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.149 sec., 330ft-3.008, 660ft-4.568/156.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.934.
Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.855, 660ft-4.392/159.46 mph, 1,000ft-5.738.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.872/196.04, Now #1
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.874/196.19, Now #2

Krawiec is well on his way to his third Championship in 2012. He has a 111 point lead with only 150 point available. He gets some more Bonus points on this pass and may be able to wrap it up before Sunday's eliminations.

Hines has been hot lately and runs low ET and top speed of the meet to secure the final top spot of the session.

Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.069 sec., 330ft-2.871, 660ft-4.396/160.37 mph, 1,000ft-5.729.
Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.067 sec., 330ft-2.867, 660ft-4.396/160.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.731.

1:41 p.m. Katie Sullivan is on the bump spot at 7.031.
