LAS VEGAS - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, Short Line Express Gambler Shootout at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

12:15 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 28.07 inches, adjusted altitude 3,833 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

Gasparrelli's car shook and danced, then went to the left and bounced off the wall. Meanwhile, Thompson was making his best run of the event and he gets the win light.

After watching three losing runs in the left lane in TAD and one in TAFC, Lombardo's team decided to swap lanes, moving to the right side.

Hool was late, then made a good run, but lost by more than a car length. Lombardo's car was moving around a bit and he ran a tenth slower than his qualifying pace, so he may not have lane choice in the semifinals.

Both drivers made nice runs here, but Bartone steadily pulled away to win by over a car length. He will have lane choice against Thompson in the semifinals.

Payne's car shook, danced, then made a hard move toward the centerline before he shut it off. Whiteley ,made her best run of the event and she will have lane choice against Lombardo in the semifinals.
