LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 7.793/89.14, Now #17; Best prior run: 20.073/174.19, Was #20
Right Lane: Troy Buff Runs 9.923/64.43, Now #20; Best prior run: 9.091/73.79, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 19 percent, barometer 27.98 inches, adjusted altitude 3,141 feet, track temperature 70 degrees.

Buff is up in smoke early and clicks it off. Chrisman starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Torrence with the header flames shooting high over the rear wing and gets into the top half of the show. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.189, 660ft-3.095/278.69 mph. Grubnic with good pass to get in the show. David Grubnic's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.183, 660ft-3.124/270.86 mph.

Bernstein is up in smoke early and clicked it off. Salinas dropped a cylinder early and the car pushes over by the centerline before he clicked it off.

Lucas is up in smoke right off the starting line and clicked it off. Kalitta launched hard and was straight down the groove and he goes to the number two spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.152, 660ft-3.053/282.66 mph.

These two were side-by-side all the way down the 1320...Millican with another good pass, but will stay in the number eight spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.865 sec., 330ft-2.202, 660ft-3.115/277.77 mph. Zizzo moves up the ladder two spots. T.J. Zizzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.175, 660ft-3.109/274.22 mph.

This was a great drag race and alBalooshi gets into the top half of the show. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.155, 660ft-3.065/276.80 mph. Vandergriff with another great pass to go to the number four spot. Bob Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.165, 660ft-3.062/283.49 mph.
