LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.041/190.06, Now #7; No Prior Run

4:38 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 28.00 inches, adjusted altitude 3,666 feet, track temperature 89 degrees.

Stoffer had problems in the first round and did not make a pass. She goes right down the groove on this one and gets in the seventh spot for now.


Left Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.351/159.49, Now #22; Best prior run: 16.734/27.44, Was #26
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.001/191.65, Now #4; No Prior Run

Sullivan was close to the centerline all the way through the run and backed off the throttle late in the run. Hines made a good run here and gets in the fourth spot for now.

Left Lane: Daryl Meadows Runs 7.910/139.80, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.651/163.45, Was #25
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 7.069/187.42, Now #12; Best prior run: 11.856/63.44, Was #27

Savoie clicked it off early on his first pass. He makes a full run this time and gets in on the provisional bump for now. Meadows has problems after half track and backs off the throttle.

Left Lane: Charles Sullivan Runs 7.390/173.43, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.573/170.95, Was #25

Sullivan improves a little but is still well off the pace.

Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.151/185.13, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.490/178.12, Was #25
Right Lane: Kieth Burley Runs 7.074/186.38, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.313/183.84, Was #22

Burley improves but not enough to get in the provisional field. Wells is able to make a full pass this time but still doesn't get in the show.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.140/185.23, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.248/177.81, Was #21
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.084/186.90, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.259/183.84, Was #23

Harris goes right down the groove but doesn't improve enough to get in the field. Berry makes a clean pass.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.243/187.13, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.188/186.28, Was #22
Right Lane: James Surber Runs 7.210/182.35, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.257/181.57, Was #23

Camarena slows from his first attempt and doesn't get in the field. Surber improves but not enough.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.056/189.02, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.078/187.18, Was #14
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.076/190.83, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.146/189.15, Was #20

Arana drifts to the left early, stays on the throttle, but still doesn't make the show. Ellis improves and gets in the field for now.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.187/189.04, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.059/188.15, Was #12
Right Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 9.608/93.05, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.138/186.92, Was #19

Tonglet's bike was bouncing up and down at the hit and he backed off the throttle. Underdahl slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: John Hall No Time, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.038/189.28, Was #7
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.136/182.92, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.127/182.13, Was #18

Hall's bike stumbled at the hit and he had to give up on the run. Guidera made a clean pass but did not improve.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.022/188.31, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.015/186.87, Was #5
Right Lane: Shawn Gann No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.122/189.92, Was #17

Gann started drifting left early, gets past half track, then drifts into the left lane behind Pollacheck. Pollacheck doesn't improve but is in the field in the fifth spot.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.030/189.63, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.998/190.30, Was #3
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.308/150.31, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.042/188.04, Was #10

Tonglet makes a decent pass but doesn't improve. Johnson has problems late in the run and backs off the throttle.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.968/191.51, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.995/189.60, Was #2
Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.011/188.07, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.041/186.92, Was #9

Arana improves but not enough to take the pole from Krawiec. Ray improves and moves up to the fifth spot.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.956/191.95, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.938/193.88, Was #1
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.981/190.19, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.019/189.55, Was #7

Krawiec doesn't improve but still makes the quickest pass of the round. Smith improves and moves up to the third spot.
