MOHNTON, Pa. -- Special awards from the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Jason Line, Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro, 6.515 seconds, 212.36 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - John Finke, 2012 Bobcat Express, Top Alcohol Dragster, Selkirk, N.Y.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Earl Nichols, 1978 Corvette, Super Gas, Wilmington, Del.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Antron Brown, Matco "Tools for the Cause", Top Fuel, Pittsboro, Ind.

Strange Engineering Perfectly Strange Performance Awards ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) -
Super Stock: No winner
Super Comp: No winner
Stock: James Perrone, Shirley, N.Y.
Super Gas: Tom Goldman, Allentown, Pa.
Super Street: No winner

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car and $1,500 to Pro Stock for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Antron Brown in his Matco "Tools for the Cause" dragster for setting a national record in Top Fuel. He also leaves Reading as the points leader.
Funny Car: Jack Beckman powered his Schumacher Electric Dodge Charger to set a national elapsed time and speed record and gained three rounds on teammate Ron Capps.
Pro Stock: V. Gaines for running a 6.48 in the semi-finals defeating both Summit Racing Equipment cars to his first national event win of the season.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Andrew Hines for setting a national ET record on his Screamin' Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson on his way to the final.
