MOHNTON, Pa. --

Persistent wet weather prevented Sportsman racers from making any qualifying passes Thursday and the beginning of the 28th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway was postponed to Friday.

Gates on Friday will open at 8 a.m. with Sportsman qualifying beginning at 8:45.

The two Pro qualifying sessions will be pushed back about 15 minutes from the original schedule. Session 1 for Pro Stock Motorcycle will be at 1:15 with Nitro qualifying at 2 p.m.

Session 2 for Pro Stock Motorcycle is at 4:15 and Nitro is at 5 p.m.

Sportsman racing will then continue into the evening.

The event is scheduled to continue through the weekend with eliminations on Sunday.

For ticket information, contact Maple Grove Raceway at (610) 856-9200 or visit www.maplegroveraceway.com.
