BATON ROUGE, La. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Amsoil Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car at the 2012 Nitro Jam Series, IHRA Mardi Gras Nitro Jam presented by Domino's Pizza, Day One:

8:10 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 55 percent, barometer 29.91 inches, adjusted altitude 2,827 feet, track temperature 107 degrees.
Up until early thisa week, four cars were set to appear here this weekend, but two cancelled at the last minute and there was not enough time to schedule replacements, so these two will do battle twice tonight and again tomorrow. Day is driving the Candies & Hughes car this weekend.

Day's car launched into severe shake, while Thompson made a relatively uneventful run. However, it appears that his car left some "stuff" in the shutdown area.
