Left Lane: Johnny Ahten Runs 5.655/240.25, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.490/237.38, Was #5
Right Lane: Joey Severance Runs 7.283/125.54, Now #8; Best prior run: 10.921/99.19, Was #8

Ahten has dropped cylinders again and slows from his first attempt.

Severance's dragster has a strong leave and then just layed over with blower belt problems before half track and coasted on down to stay #8.

Butler was supposed to have been in the left lane, but is a no show.

Miersch leaves hard, shakes, pumps the throttle, lifts the front end, and finally gets on down the track to improve his position by two spots to number five. Busy pass!
